The Colour Club have branded independent cafe, Shorty's, who serve some of the highest quality coffee and food. Obviously, they needed this go-to coffee house to look as good as its output tastes!
The name of the brand, also by The Colour Club, evokes images of classic eateries and coffee houses from time immemorial. Less esoterically, the name is also a play on the 6"6 owner; they create lanky, illustrated legs to show off that morning coffee run. The windy legs also create an S shape in an instance of graphic art-cum-typography.
The classic eateries feel, we think, feeds into their choice of colours, typography and added extras. The gif below shows other typographical assets used within the brand, 'get your fix at 36' and 'cold drip' have this clever, slanted, vintage feel towards them. The rustic palette gives the brand that relatable and welcoming feel, it's an inviting look and feel.
One of our favourite projects from 2017; it's the type of brand every designer longs to work on, with it's clever name and lovely roll out. We are envious and wouldn't mind the next Inspo meeting being in Shorty's.
